In most cases, applications for postgraduate courses can be made at any time in the year, provided that you allow enough time for a decision to be made on your application and for you to make any necessary arrangements (such as visa applications, if applicable). However, there might be some courses closing early if there is a high demand for places (particularly in the Business School), so it is worth checking the programme’s information for further details.
Postgraduate taught programmes start in late September (this year we exceptionally had an additional January intake for selected DUBS programmes).
The research programmes also normally begin in October, but you may also start postgraduate research degrees in January or April.
If you would like to start a research degree at another time during the academic year, then please get in touch with the relevant Academic Department to discuss it. We can usually be pretty accommodating!
One last thing to be aware of if you are applying for scholarships or other funding sources, or if you are applying for a course delivered in conjunction with a Doctoral Training Partnership or Centre, there may be additional funding application deadlines to be aware of when making your application to a postgraduate course.
