Yes! We seek to make Durham accessible to all of our students as much as possible.

Finances:
If you have children or adult dependants you may be entitled to extra support in the form of an Adult Dependants Grant or a Parents Learning Allowance.
If you have children in registered childcare you may be entitled to a Childcare Grant. All of these forms of extra support are paid in roughly equal termly instalments, one at the start of each term. Freshers will receive payment a couple of days after the start of the Michaelmas Term, once they have registered as students of the University. There is extra information on the Adult Dependants Grant, Parents Learning Allowance and the Childcare Grant here

Nursery:
We also have the
Durham University Day Nursery.
It is a diverse community open to all, including University staff and students, and members of the public.
Our nursery staff are caring, highly experienced, and fully qualified professionals who work in partnership with parents to provide a safe and stimulating environment for babies aged from six weeks old to school-age children.

Housing:
Ustinov College (the only postgraduate only college) also provides support to parents and families who are studying at Durham. For information about family accommodation at other colleges please contact our
Accommodation and Allocations Office here: Undergraduate: colleges.undergrad@durham.ac.uk Postgraduate: colleges.postgrad@durham.ac.uk.
The Durham City Council also works to support families in the community (Help for families).
There are also local charities and churches who also provide support/parent groups to parents and students in the community. Perhaps check out some of the below links to get your started:
